Logistics and supply chains: compare the complete delivery commitment

Business area: Logistics & Supply Chain Services
Write the delivery requirement before requesting quotations: product specification, quantity, destination, required date and acceptable handling conditions. Identify who provides packing information, shipping documents and receiving confirmation.
Compare quotations on the same scope. Include the stated inclusions and exclusions, handover points, lead-time assumptions and arrangements for damage or delay. Ask who is responsible for each exception and which documents are needed to investigate it.
Track a pilot shipment or order from release to receipt. Review the actual delivered cost, missed handovers and time spent resolving exceptions. Use the findings to refine supplier instructions and reorder planning instead of selecting solely on the headline freight price.
