Finance, tax and audit preparation: make records traceable month by month

Business area: Finance, Tax & Audit Services
Organize each transaction so the business purpose, approval, supporting document, payment and accounting entry can be traced. China’s tax authority describes duties to keep books using lawful, valid documents and retain relevant records under applicable rules. Confirm the requirements for the actual entity and transaction with its advisers.
Use a monthly close checklist covering bank reconciliation, receivables, payables, inventory and unresolved documents. Assign owners and due dates to differences. Keep a separate list of matters that require an accountant, tax adviser or auditor to determine the correct treatment.
Before an audit or filing deadline, agree the requested materials and the version to be provided. Management remains responsible for complete information and follow-up. Record preparation supports professional work; it does not replace a statutory audit, tax opinion or signed report.
